Privacy Policy
What we collect when you enquire, book or attend, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Effective from 18 September 2026Last updated 18 September 2026
1. Who we are
Dance Floor Studio (“we”, “us”) decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“the Act”).
Anything about your personal data — a question, a correction, a request to erase it, or a complaint — goes to the studio’s grievance contact. You can reach them on +91 9860555805 or by email at Dancefloorpune@gmail.com.
This policy sits alongside our Terms & Conditions and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
2. What we collect
- You send an enquiry
- Your name, phone number and its country, email, what you are asking about, and your message.
- You book a workshop
- The lead contact’s name, phone, email and city; each participant’s name and ticket type; answers to the workshop’s questions, such as dance level; and the consents you give — the waiver, photographs and videos, and WhatsApp messages.
- A child is booked
- The child’s name and ticket type, and the parent or guardian’s name and phone number.
- The workshop asks for a photo
- A photograph of each participant.
- The workshop asks for ID proof
- The type of ID, its last four digits, and images of it. We ask for masked Aadhaar only, and never store a full Aadhaar number.
- You pay
- The amount, date, method and payment reference. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach us.
- You attend
- When each participant was checked in at the entry desk.
- You join a regular class
- The student’s name, the guardian’s name, phone number, class, fees paid and attendance, recorded at the studio.
- We message you
- Whether each WhatsApp message we send was delivered and read.
3. Why we use it
- To take, confirm and manage bookings, and to issue tickets and receipts.
- To verify who is attending at the entry desk, using the photograph and ID proof.
- To send you WhatsApp messages about your booking — payment requests, tickets, reminders and changes.
- To keep class, fee and attendance records for students.
- To reply to your enquiries.
- To keep accounts and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To keep participants safe and deal with any incident.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Consent
We use your personal data with the consent you give when you book or enquire, and otherwise only where the Act permits — for example, to meet a legal obligation.
For a child under 18, a parent or guardian gives consent on the child’s behalf.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. This does not affect what was done before, and some bookings cannot continue without the data — such as an ID proof a workshop requires.
6. How we protect it
Participant photographs and ID proofs are kept in private storage that cannot be reached from the public website.
Only staff with the right permission can see a photograph, only the entry desk can see an ID proof, and every view is recorded.
Staff access is limited by role, and connections to this website are encrypted.
7. How long we keep it
- ID proof images
- Deleted automatically within 7 days after the workshop ends.
- Participant photographs
- Kept while they are needed for badges and entry at the workshop, and removed on request.
- Bookings, payments, receipts and student records
- Kept for 8 years, which is what accounting and tax records require.
- Enquiries
- Kept for 24 months.
To have a participant photograph removed, ask the studio’s grievance contact — see your rights.
8. Your rights
Under the Act, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- correct or update it;
- erase it, once we no longer need it for its purpose or for a legal obligation;
- let a person you nominate exercise these rights if you die or become unable to;
- resolve a grievance about how we have handled your data.
Ask the studio’s grievance contact on +91 9860555805 or by email at Dancefloorpune@gmail.com. We will respond promptly, and within any time the law requires.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board established under the Act.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The dates at the top of this page show when it last changed.
